Our Record
Life, Liberty, Faith, and Family — since 2017.
Who We Are
The South Carolina Family Caucus was formed in the summer of 2017 — a coalition of two dozen Christian conservative legislators who share the same core convictions of faith and family. Today we include representatives and senators from across the state, united around a single mission: to protect Life, Liberty, Faith, and Family.
We are a team of legislators dedicated to preserving and protecting families in South Carolina. We do not endorse candidates. We work, bill by bill and vote by vote, to advance the values our members were elected to defend.

Introduced in 2018 and passed by the House in 2019, the Heartbeat Act was signed into law in 2021. After the SC Supreme Court struck down that version, the caucus passed it again — and the 2023 act was upheld and remains in effect today.
Help Not Harm Act

School Choice

Military Retirement Tax Exemption
Act 156 of 2022
Fully exempts military retirement income from state income tax. Signed into law in 2022.

Defending the Bench
In South Carolina, judges are elected by the General Assembly. Few decisions shape the future of our state more, and few receive less public attention.
The Family Caucus has helped elect conservative judges to South Carolina's courts. We extensively interview every judicial candidate, asking about their values and their faith, and we share what we learn with our fellow legislators so they can cast informed votes.

The work continues. These are the priorities the Family Caucus is pressing for next.
